Meet Katia
​Mrs Katia Pestana is a dedicated HPCSA Registered Counsellor with a passion for achieving optimised outcomes for clients. Her interest in working with mental health challenges was ignited whilst conducting qualitative research on the lived experiences of adolescents living with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, for which she was awarded a Masters of Arts in Research Psychology from the University of Stellenbosch.
She subsequently completed her Bachelor of Honours (BPsych Equivalent) with distinction from Cornerstone Institute, gaining rich experiences from rotating through various government healthcare community sites. Now in private practice in Somerset West, she is focused on adult and adolescent clients, and has specific interests in working with clients afflicted by trauma, stress and anxiety, relationship challenges, and grief.
